Hillsboro police report

Jan. 1: Officers assisted with Frost Bite Run. Officers assisted Social and Rehabilitative Services with an investigation.

Jan. 2: Officers assisted SRS with placement of an abandoned child. Officers assisted the Hays Police Department with a child neglect case. A missing person report was filed in the 300 block of South Birch Street. The subject was located several days later. Officers mediated a child custody dispute at child custody exchange. A subject reported a possible child neglect case; family members could not locate a child that was supposed to be in mother’s custody. Officers assisted transport of patient from hospital to his or her home. A dog complaint was checked. Officers followed up on missing person report; a witness said the subject was missing voluntarily. A noise complaint was checked.

Jan. 3: A person reported finding stolen property at the golf course. The items had been stolen during a burglary several weeks ago. Officers assisted a federal agency with a background investigation. Officers assisted McPherson County Sheriff with an investigation. Officers assisted Marion Police with a fleeing felon.

Jan. 4: Officers assisted a motorist. A person reported that his ex-wife was threatening to come to Hillsboro and remove his children; the ex-wife did appear at the residence to make threats; criminal charges are pending. Officers assisted SRS with a child custody dispute and placement. Officers assisted a motorist.

Thursday: A criminal threat complaint was checked in the 300 block of South Ash Street. A subject reported being threatened during a child custody exchange. A skunk complaint was checked. A motorist assist was performed. Officers assisted fire department with a fire alarm. Officers met with SRS on a child neglect complaint. A subject reported inappropriate behavior between two small children. A sick cat complaint was filed. Suspicious activity was checked. Officers worked with a community service worker.

Friday: A welfare check was performed in the 100 block of South Date Street. A traffic obstruction was removed from F and D streets. Officers worked with a high school on-the-job training student. Officers assisted Marion County Sheriff with a reckless driver.

Saturday: A report of suspicious people behind a vacant building was checked. A dog complaint was checked. A traffic complaint was checked.
