Hillsboro police report

May 6: Officers mediated a neighbor dispute in the 300 block of North Lincoln Street. Suspicious activity was checked in the 500 block of North Adams Street. A non-injury accident was worked. A subject reported a burglary at a Hillsboro city shop; several rolls of copper wire and a city truck were reported missing.

May 7: A suspicious person was reported on Kennedy Street. A person reported an Internet scam. An officer was called to school in reference to a child that had been left at school following a school program.

May 8: A dog complaint was checked. A harassment complaint was checked in the 400 block of North Ash Street. A dog complaint was checked. Suspicious activity was checked at the intersection of U.S. 56 and Ash Street. An officer picked up a stranded motorist in the 200 block of North Adams Street.

May 9: Officers attended safety training at city hall. Officers assisted a domestic violence victim. A suspicious vehicle was reported in Hillsboro Heights. A dog complaint was checked in the 400 block of South Date Street.

Thursday: Officers performed a funeral escort. Officers instructed two DARE classes at Hillsboro Elementary School. A domestic disturbance was reported in the 400 block of South Ash Street; a parent and child were arguing. A neighbor dispute was mediated in the 200 block of North Lincoln Street.

Friday: Officers assisted subjects with registered sexual offender information. A suspicious vehicle was reported in the 300 block of South Cedar Street. A funeral escort was performed. Officers provided two drug awareness classes at Hillsboro High School. Officers assisted with locating a missing person. A motorist was assisted.

Saturday: Vandalism was reported in the 300 block of North Main Street; a person reported having the tires on a vehicle and trailer punctured. A report of a suspicious person at swimming pool was checked. A theft report was filed in the 500 block of East D St; a subject entered a convenience store wearing a dark colored hoodie over his head, picked up two cases of beer, and then ran out of the store.
