Holt and Wallen wed in New Zealand

Andy Holt, formerly of Marion, and Rachael Wallen, formerly of Auckland, New Zealand, were united in marriage Feb. 3 at St. Paul’s Anglican Church, Christchurch, New Zealand.

The bride’s sister, Stephanie Wallen of Whangarei, New Zealand, served as maid of honor. Kirsty Wadsworth of Levin, New Zealand, was bridesmaid. The groom’s brother, William Holt of Cleveland, Ohio, served as best man. Louis Holt of Hampstead, North Carolina, was groomsman. The groom’s uncle, A.J. Cameron of Roeland Park, read scripture.

Parents of the couple are Bruce and Karen Wallen of Auckland, and Terry and Ann Holt of Marion. The late Graham and Sylvie Wallen of Gisborne, New Zealand, and Audrey and the late Brian Wells of Auckland, New Zealand are the bride’s grandparents. The late Bev and Monica Cameron of Lenexa, Kansas, and the late Arnold and Florence Holt of Marion are the groom’s grandparents.

The bride was homeschooled through high school. She attended Auckland University of Technology, majoring in paramedicine and attaining a bachelor’s degree in health sciences in 2011. She is a clinical support officer for St. John Ambulance Service (EMS) in New Zealand.

The groom, a 2004 Marion High School graduate, received a bachelor’s degree in earth science from Emporia State University in 2008. He received a master’s degree in geophysics from the University of Otago, Dunedin, New Zealand, in 2017. He works in the field of geographic information systems.

The couple lives in Christchurch, New Zealand.
