A Holton driver died in a two-vehicle, head-on crash seven miles east of Florence.

The accident occurred at 2:45 a.m. Oct. 30, in Chase County.

Brandon Lee Jenkins, 22, Holton, was westbound in a 1993 Plymouth passenger car on U.S.-50 near milemarker 309 when the car drifted into the path of a 2007 Kenworth semi driven by Michael W. Olsen, 45, Taylor Falls, Minn. The Plymouth came to rest on a bridge crossing and the semi came to rest in a north ditch, east of the impact area.

Olsen was transported to Newman Regional Hospital, Emporia, where he was treated and released. Jenkins died at the scene.

Kansas Highway Patrol investigated the accident.
