Angels have a way of shaking things up.
Let’s face it, when an angel appears, something is about to break loose: warning, judgment, blessing, life, and sometimes death.
When God sends an angel with a message, the angel isn’t going to deliver “junk mail.”
Think about it, angels have delivered some pretty pregnant news. And this time of year shines a light on one such headline.
“For today … there has been born for you a Savior, who is Christ the Lord.” Luke 2:11.
I can’t imagine an angel in heaven who wouldn’t have been thrilled to introduce the world to the most awesome baby ever born. Any one of them would have been honored to deliver the good news of great joy.
But if you think announcing the first coming of Jesus was fantastic, can you imagine the powerful angelic shout and trumpet blast that will declare the second coming of Jesus? Wow.
Christmas reminds us that there is one great heavenly announcement that covers two history-changing events. The headline is, “The Savior has come.”
Jesus came the first time so we could get prepared for the second time. Are you ready?
