LETTERS TO THE EDITOR:   Hospital working to soften the blow of Hodson ending medical practice

To the editor:

By now many in town have read in the Marion County Record or heard from others that Dr. Don Hodson will be closing his practice in August. While we all will miss Dr. Hodson and the excellent care he has provided to patients at St. Luke and in our community all these years, we wish him well in the next stage of life.

St. Luke Hospital is committed to the Marion Family Physicians practice and its patients. I have been working closely with Dr. Hodson to ensure that Marion Family Physicians continues serving the community, recruits new providers, and maintains the high quality of care that our community expects and deserves.

In order to help maintain the Marion Family Physicians practice, St. Luke is in the process of purchasing it. We will continue to work with Dr. Hodson and his staff until the transition is complete. Integrating the practice into St. Luke is a great opportunity to share information and resources and maintain local access to health care. We welcome them to the St. Luke family.

Please feel free to contact me at (620) 382-2177 if you have any questions.
