Howard Kerns

Howard F. Kerns, 88, of Reading, Pa., died Aug. 7, in Mifflin Center, Cumru Township, Pa.

Born in Tuckerton, Pa., he was the son of the late Frank I. and Ella R. (Miller) Kerns.

He married former Peabody resident Bonnie J. (Koslowsky) Kerns on May 8, 1959.

Survivors include his wife, Bonnie; a son, Frank H. Kerns of Gordon, Ga.; a daughter, Kathleen Romano, of Birdsboro, Pa.; two stepdaughters, Kathee Rhode of Barto, Pa., and Karen DeJarnett of Kutztown, Pa.; six grandchildren; and nine great-grandchildren.

Graveside services with military honors will be at 11 a.m. Thursday at Indiantown Gap National Cemetery, Annville, Pa., with the Rev. Harry Goos officiating.

The family asks for no flowers.
