It’s not too late

To the editor:

I was saddened when I received the Florence Crossroads newsletter.

I was born in Florence and lived a wonderful life until Pete’s work took us away.

After many years of having a café and 25 years of hairdressing there, it was time to move on.

My time of serving on Florence City Council was one of the most rewarding times of my life. Pete and I still work there in helping with broken tombstones, painting, cleaning stones, and pulling weeds.

I remember the old days when these small communities worked together to stay afloat. I still believe in doing it that way. Marion, Hillsboro, Peabody, Burns, and Florence should stick together.

I’m hoping that all of you will step-up to the plate and help Florence finish the Veteran Park project.

We are putting our check in the mail. Florence needs help!
