Marion County Sheriff’s Department will have an open house for the public at the new county jail from 3 to 7 p.m. on Friday and 8 a.m. to 2 p.m. Saturday.

The jail isn’t entirely finished, and it is still mostly unfurnished, but the open house will be a chance for the public to see what the county has been working toward ever since a committee of volunteers was appointed in April 2009.
