James LaBelle Sr.

James Robert LaBelle Sr., 65, of Marion, died Jan. 8, at the Post Acute Center, Bel Aire.

Born Nov. 20, 1944, in Fort Scott, to Paul and Katherine (Wheaton) LaBelle, he attended St. Mary’s Catholic School in Fort Scott. He retired from Boeing Aircraft and owned and operated a tax and accounting business.

On Nov. 29, 2003, he married Wanda Schneider. She preceded him in death July 30.

His parents and a son, James LaBelle Jr., also preceded him.

Survivors include a son, Kevin LaBelle of El Dorado; a daughter, Tina Boley of Wichita; a brother, William of Wichita; a half-sister, Linda Moss of Boling Springs, S.C.; and 12 grandchildren.

A Mass of Christian burial was today at St. Joseph Catholic Church in McPherson with Father Davis Lies officiating. A Rosary was recited prior to the service.

Father Darin May conducted graveside services at 3:30 p.m. today at St. Mary’s Catholic Cemetery in Fort Scott.
