Former flight attendant and Goessel native Janice Kay Schmidt, 64, died Feb. 25, in Excelsior, Minnesota.

A memorial service will be at 4 p.m. Saturday at Tabor Mennonite Church. Burial of ashes will be at Alexanderwohl Cemetery.

Born Jan. 15, 1951, to Elmer and Elsie Schmidt at Goessel, she graduated Goessel High School in 1969 and from Emporia State University in 1973. She taught elementary school for one year, then was a flight attendant until her retirement at 62. She married Joel Worthington on Aug. 9, 1996. He survives, along with a sister, Diana Roberts; and a brother, Glen Schmidt.
