Jean Langenwalter Derstine, 78, died September 24 at Schowalter Villa in Hesston.
Born January 11, 1933, in Wichita, to Edwin and Marie Dester Langenwalter, she graduated from Hesston Academy in 1953 and La Junta Mennonite School of Nursing in 1956. After marriage, she was a homemaker.
Jean was married to Merrill Derstine. He survives.
She was a member of Whitestone Mennonite Church in Hesston.
She is survived by sons, Timothy and Benjamin of State College, Pa.; daughters Alonna Smith of Philadelphia, Pa, Rebecca Esch of Newton, Deborah Zug of Harleysville, Pa., Regina Overton of Marion, Sarah Epp of McPherson; sister Linda Smith of Blountstown, Fla., and 11 grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her sister Ann Bloom.
Services wer Monday at Schowalter Villa Chapel, Hesston, with chaplain Wendy Miller officiating.
