Jessie Maxine Spoon

Jessie Maxine Spoon, 80, formerly of Marion, died March 4, 2015, at Newton Medical Center.

Born near Burlington August 25, 1934, she was the daughter of Joseph and Mabel (Scott) Wilson.

She was a certified nurse aide at St. Luke Hospital.

She was preceded in death by husbands, Ken Martin and Max Spoon; and a brother, Luther Wilson.

Survivors are her children, Al Seibel of Rock Springs, Wyoming, Susan Hix of Winona, Minnesota, Lola Conner and Jane Prine of Newton, Sarah Ferris of Garden City, and Jean Chavez of Omaha, Nebraska; step-children Janet Donely of Oxford, Linda Johnson of Winfield, and Robert Spoon of Oxford; 12 grandchildren and 20 great-grandchildren.

The funeral service was March 9, 2015, at Eastmoor United Methodist Church in Marion, with Chaplain Denny Bell officiating. Interment was in Marion Cemetery.

A memorial has been established for the Kansas Christian Home in care of Zeiner Funeral Home, Marion.
