Joe Plume

Joe Plume, 67, passed away July 27.

Joe was born Jan. 17, 1948, at Wichita, to Frank and Dorothy Plume. Joe was the youngest child out of four.

Joe completed his family in 1984 when he met June Hatton and her five children. On Dec. 10, 2005, June and Joe finally made it official with a ceremony.

Joe was an entrepreneur at heart. In the ’90s, he owned and operated an arcade in Herington. He spent many years of his life buying and selling at flea markets across the state and in neighboring states. Some of his many other hobbies were fishing, writing, and spending time with family.

Joe is survived by his five children: Alan, Rob, Valarie, Jamie, and Shane; his two sisters Jeanie and Mary, and 11 grandchildren; and four great-grandchildren.

Joe was preceded by his parents, two siblings, and his loving wife, June.

Although Joe didn’t want a memorial service, his family held a private service for him. Joe will be most missed for his love, wisdom, and admiration of his family.
