Josephine Marie Mendoza was born at 6:19 a.m. Dec. 12 at Via Christi St. Joseph Hospital in Wichita to Eloy and Andrea Mendoza of Derby.

She weighed 7 pounds 4 ounces and was 19 inches long.

She has two older siblings, 2-year-olds Katherine and Layla.

Duane and Karen Carlson of Lincolnville and Federico and Maria Mendoza of Houston are her grandparents. Joyce and Ruth Ann Carlson of Lincolnville, Howard Heinbuch of Maryland, and Ana Melgoza of Guadalajara, Mexico, are her great-grandparents.
