Coming off solid freshman campaigns for the Marion High School wrestling squad, Jarret McLinden and Tyler Palic took fifth place in the 14-and-under division at the Kansas Kids State tournament March 27-28 in Topeka.

McLinden wrestles at 265 pounds, and Palic wrestles at 205. It was the third time since 2009 that McLinden placed, and the second time Palic placed in that time, coach Chuck McLinden said.

Cooper Brewer of the 6-and-under division wrestled at 67 pounds in the Kansas Novice state championship in February.
