The Centre High School track team competed Friday in the Marion Relays track meet.
Theo Kassebaum finished third in the 100-meter hurdles with a time of 16.90 seconds, and fifth in the 300 hurdles, 52.81.
Casey Kristek finished third in the 110 hurdles with a time of 17.51.
Ellie Miller placed third in the high jump with a leap of 4 feet, 8 inches. She also placed sixth in the triple jump with a leap of 29-10.
The 4x100 relay team of Grant Srajer, Justin Deines, Chad Mueller, and Houston Svoboda finished fourth with a time of 50.82.
Cacey Simons finished fifth in the high jump, 4-6.
Cole Svoboda finished fifth in the javeline, 141-9.
Moundridge
Centre High School track coach Alan Stahlecker was pleased with his teams’ performances in the first meet of the season April 5 at Moundridge.
“I was particularly pleased with the results our hurdlers achieved with big personal records for both Theo Kassebaum and Casey Kristek in the high hurdles,” he said. “The young athletes handled their first high school competition admirably.”
Kassebaum had two first-place finishes: the 100-meter high hurdles in 16.6 seconds and the 300 low hurdles in 54.3. She placed third in long jump with a leap of 14 feet, 11.5 inches.
Kristek finished second in the 110 high hurdles with a time of 17.1 seconds. He placed fourth in the 300 intermediate hurdles at 47.5.
A team of Srajer, Deines, Mueller, and Houston Svoboda won the 4x100 relay with a time of 52.2.
Girls team
The girls team finished fourth behind Berean Academy, Moundridge, and Sedgwick.
Other finishers were Katie Remy — 3. 800 run, 3:17.4. Miller — 2. 400 run, 1:14.6; 3. Triple jump, 30-9.5; 5. High jump, 4-8. Genesis Rudolph — 5. 100 dash, 14.6. Beka Basore — 4. 800 run, 3:32.9; 5. 1600 run, 7:48. Simons — 2. High jump, 4-10; 5. 200 dash, 30.8.
A 4x100 relay team of Kassebaum, Simons, Miller, and Rudolph finished second with a time of 57.2.
Boys team
The boys team also finished in fourth place.
Results included Cole Svoboda — 3. 400 dash, 57.6; 3. Long jump, 18-6.25; 5. Javelin, 128-7. Houston Svoboda — 3. 200 dash, 26. Dallen Thompson — 5. 3200 run, 12:45. Solomon Brunner — 3. 3200 run, 12:19; 5. 1600 run, 5:38.7.
A 4x400 relay team of Thompson, Mueller, Kristek, and Cole Svoboda finished in second place with a time of 4:22.3.
