Kermit Dirksen

Kermit E. Dirksen, 76, of Marion, died Feb. 2 near Florence.

Born May 9, 1933, in Goessel to Menno and Edna (Epp) Dirksen, he was married July 10, 1955, to Frances Schmidt.

He was employed as a construction technician for PKHLS Architecture of El Dorado and Newton.

Survivors include his wife, Frances; two sons, Greg of Hillsboro and Ron of Goessel; a daughter, Linda Shelly of Lenexa; a brother, Larry of San Diego, Calif.; two sisters, Geneva Bartel of Goessel and Jolene Dirksen of Newton; and three grandchildren.

A celebration of life reception was Saturday at Eastmoor United Methodist Church.

A memorial fund has been established with Bethesda Home of Goessel in care of Zeiner Funeral Home, PO Box 6, Marion.
