Kiwanis Club reports activities

In February, Sheriff Rob Craft updated Marion Kiwanis Club members on the status of the new jail.

Club members entertained at St. Luke Living Center by singing Valentine’s Day songs and visiting with residences.

Varsity baseball coach Roger Schroeder talked about the fundraiser concessions at recreational baseball games, getting a new batting cage, and getting it installed. He talked about the new bat regulations going into effect this year, the players, and the game line-up.

Most club members will be participating as volunteers in the marshmallow roast March 24 at Marion County Lake.

Donations were made to the following organizations: Girls’ State, to assist four girls who are going; Boys’ State; Key Club, for members attending the state convention; Baseball Boosters, for a new batting cage at the athletic field; and Kiwanis International Foundation, for the scholarship fund.
