Kiwanis club welcomes new members

Three new members were inducted into the Marion Kiwanis Club in November. They were Roger Schroeder, Evan Stout, and Darin Neufeld.

The club meets weekly at noon Tuesday.

November activities included a tour of Central Station, the new Marion youth center.

District 5 Lt. Gov. Steven Harmon of Emporia presented the program Nov. 8. He informed club members of changes and updates. He talked about the KS DST Project; Victory Junction in Kansas City, a place for seriously ill children; and the Kiwanis Global Project, ELIMINATE, that provides maternal/neonatal tetanus shots.

On Nov. 15, Marion wrestling coach Chad Atkins and boys’ basketball coach Jeff McMillan each talked about their players and their expectations for the coming year.

Don Noller shared information Nov. 22 concerning personal security when using various money transactions such as phishing, ATM’s, debit cards, and passwords.

Members were informed Nov. 29 that the new Kiwanis storage building would be delivered soon.
