Kiwanis plans events, interclub meetings

Marion Kiwanis met Tuesday with 20 members and one guest present for committee reports.

Roger Hannaford reported that the club is recruiting some younger members.

Al Ash reminded members that there are interclub opportunities Saturday with McPherson and March 8 with Emporia. Both clubs are having pancake feeds. Anyone wishing to go should meet at 8:30 a.m. Saturday.

If the club gets four or more members to both of those events, Lindsborg would be the only club in the district Marion hasn’t visited this year.

Mike Powers and Roger Schroeder will represent the club on the athletic awards committee.

Kiwanis and the Marion County Record will partner on a community Easter egg hunt April 19 as a community service project for young children.

Adam Stewart reported on publicity for the club, which has included weekly reports in the Record, as well as photographs of an interclub meeting with Hillsboro and singing at Marion Assisted Living.
