The Centre High School volleyball team started out with a bang Saturday at the Wheat State League tournament at Solomon. They defeated White City and Solomon in the first two matches but then lost the next three to finish in fourth place.
Their record is 17-15.
Centre High School will host a substate volleyball tournament Saturday. The Lady Cougars are second seed, Goessel first, White City third, Wakefield fourth, and Burrton fifth.
Centre and Goessel have first-round byes. Play begins at 2 p.m.

Centre vs. White City: 25-12, 25-23.
Centre vs. Solomon: 25-7, 25-17.
Centre vs. Peabody: 23-25, 19-25.
Centre vs. Goessel: 9-25, 8-25.
Centre vs. Peabody: 21-25, 21-25.
