Lady Cougars score 2 wins

The Lady Cougars picked up their eighth victory Friday with a 50-29 win at home against Rural Vista.
After Vista made an opening basket, Shelby Makovec scored a trey, followed by layups by Ally Basore and Nellie Kassebaum. Vista then scored 6 unanswered points to take an 8-7 lead, its only lead of the game.
Centre piled up 7 more points in the quarter on baskets by Lotti Benning, Shelby Pankratz, and Kassebaum. Centre led 15-8.
From then on, it was all uphill for the Lady Cougars. They outscored Vista 12-6, 14-13, and 9-4 in the remaining quarters for a 21-point victory.
Shelby Makovec led scoring with 18 points, followed by Shelby Pankratz with 10. Kassebaum had 8 points, Benning had 6, Basore had 4, and Brenna Shields and Summer Espinoza had 2 each.
Peabody-Burns
The Lady Cougars defeated Peabody-Burns 67-23 Tuesday in Centre basketball tournament.
Centre dominated scoring, making 13 points in the first quarter, 21 in each of the second and third quarters, and 12 in the fourth.
Shelby Makovec and Shelby Pankratz lead Centre’s scoring with 22 and 13 points each.
For their next game in the tournament, the Lady Cougars will face Marion this Friday.
