Laura Elma Foth, 94, of Newton, died Oct. 2 at Kansas Christian Home, Newton.
Born Jan. 24, 1916, in Goessel, the oldest of six children to John and Bertha (Becker) Peters, she was raised on a farm near Peabody and attended high school in Walton.
She married Ervin Foth on Nov. 28, 1937, at Alexanderwohl Mennonite Church, Goessel. They farmed in the Hillsboro area. The couple moved to Walton in 1949 and to Newton in 1983.
She was a member of Grace Community Church, Newton.
She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband Jan. 11, 2000; a son, Marvin; a daughter, Wanda; three brothers, Melvin, Victor, and Elmer; two sisters, Ruth Feilder and Luella Dyck; three grandchildren, Diane K. Heidel, Dennis Ray Stika, and Tom Foth; and a son-in-law, Valarion Stika.
Survivors include two sons, Kenneth of Osage City and Edward of Newton; three daughters, Delores Stika of Marion, Lois Prewit of El Dorado, and Margie Heidel of Newton; nine grandchildren; 17 great-grandchildren; and numerous step-grandchildren.
Services will be at 11 a.m. Thursday at Grace Community Church, 1600 S. Anderson Ave., Newton.
Burial will be in Walton Cemetery.
A memorial fund has been established with the church in care of Broadway Colonial Funeral Home, 120 E Broadway St, Newton KS 67114.
