Marion High School golfer Landon Leiker placed ninth Friday in the Marion County 36-Hole Invitational Golf Tournament. He shot an 83 in Hillsboro and an 84 in Marion for a total score of 167.

Michael Gellerman of Sterling won the tournament for a second consecutive year with a 75 in Hillsboro, 66 in Marion, and an overall score of 141.

Marion golfers Adam Molleker, Tim Costello, Hogan Lovelady, Wiley Lundy, and Derek Stuchlik competed in the tournament. The Marion golf team finished 13th with a combined score of 763.

Leiker places in top 5 again

The Marion High School golf team finished fifth May 4 at the Marion Invitational Tournament.

Leiker placed fourth with a round of 84.

Molleker placed 17th with a round of 93, Costello 23rd with a 96, Lundy 29th with a 98, Braydon Putter 34th with a 99, Lovelady 41st with a 106, Stuchlik 48th with a 122, and Dane Purkeypile 50th with a 126.
