Golf at PBHS will be different this season with the team competing on grass greens instead of sand. The squad travels to Newton for practice and has three returning letter-winners from this past season.
Jason Wingert, Trevor Foth, and Jacob Gillet are all juniors at PBHS and all received letters for their 2008-09 performances.
Wingert had all top 20 finishes last season, earning a first-place medal at Chase and second-place medals at Peabody/Burns and also the Heart of America league tournament. He was placed on the HOA all-league team for his second-place finish at league. Wingert also medaled at Regionals with an eighth-place finish and then medaled at state in 19th place.
Gillet had two top 20 finishes last season. He earned a sixth-place medal at Chase and medaled in 15th at Marion.
Foth had a season high third-place finish at Chase in 2008-09.
The team will open Tuesday at Herington. Jim Pohlman is again the coach of the PBHS golf team.
