Marion hosted an Extended Learning Placement Quiz Bowl meet April 12 at USD 408 Performing Arts Center, Marion.

Sherri Sells, ELP facilitator for Goessel, Marion, and Peabody schools coordinated the event.

Questions were read from the areas of social science, language arts, math, science, fine arts, sports, and year in review. At the end of the competition, parents of the students were challenged to answer questions.

Participants included students from Goessel, Hillsboro, Marion, Bluestem, and Flint Hills.

The first place team was Sonja Jost of Hillsboro, Zach Wiens of Goessel, and Quinn Hughes of Bluestem.

Others who participated from local schools were Lydia Smith, Jennifer Meysing, Anna Wiens and Alicen Meysing of Goessel; Kalen Moss, Taytum Miller, Hannah Funk, Samantha Moss, Abi Hurst, and Lauren Henderson of Hillsboro; and Tori Smith and Nathan Baldwin of Marion.
