Lois Butcher

Lois E. Butcher, age 80, of Chase County, died May 14 at Newman Regional Health, Emporia.

Born May 17, 1929, at Yates Center to George and Hazel Mae (Medearis) McFadden, she graduated from Chase County High School in 1947.

She was a bookkeeper and receptionist.

She married Richard Allen Lundgren, lived in Marion, and owned the Elgin Hotel. They were divorced and he died in 1995.

Lois married William S. Razor Jr. of Marion. They were divorced and he died in 2001.

Lois returned to Chase County and married Walter E. Butcher June 24, 1991, at Saffordville United Methodist Church. They lived in the Toledo area of Chase County.

Her parents; a sister, Vera Mae McFadden; and brothers, Bobby and Louis McFadden, preceded her in death.

Survivors include her husband, Walter, of the home; a son, Kenneth Lundgren of Marion; a daughter, Kendra McDermeit of Winter Haven, Fla.; a brother, Bill McFadden of Joplin, Mo., a sister, Melva Jean Cruse of Vassar; a half-sister, Kathleen Huffman of Meadville, Miss.; and four grandchildren.

A celebration of life service was Tuesday morning at Brown-Bennett-Alexander Funeral Home in Cottonwood Falls with the Rev. Lori Schwilling officiating.

Burial followed in Hillside Cemetery at Toledo Township.

A memorial fund has been established with Saffordville United Methodist Church in care of the funeral home, 201 Cherry, Cottonwood Falls KS 66845.
