Looking for a job?

Are you interested in serving your neighborhood?

Do you want to be part of the solution instead of just complaining?

Do you have leadership skills?

Are you capable of making informed decisions?

Do you have the commitment and desire to serve others?

Are you available to take evening telephone calls or don’t mind, too much, being stopped at the grocery store by a taxpayer who has a complaint?

If this is you, have I got a job for you.

It’s that time again when some city elected positions are up for grabs.

There are three positions on Marion City Council — two council members and the mayor — and two councilor positions on Hillsboro City Council.

Some have indicated their interest in serving another term; others are undecided.

This is a hectic time of year with residents busy with winter sports, Christmas preparation, and end-of-the-year commitments. Thinking about running for an office is not on most peoples’ minds. However, when January rolls around, the deadline will suddenly be upon us.

Think about it. You won’t get rich from the pay and the stress is sometimes unbearable but the rewards are immeasurable. Imagine being a part of the future of your community. What an opportunity!
