Lost Springs alumni celebrate anniversary

Staff writer

While Centre High School was celebrating a 50-year milestone Saturday, Lost Springs High School alumni were holding their tri-annual meeting at Centre Elementary School in Lost Springs. They were commemorating the 51st anniversary of the last graduating class in the spring of 1958.

The school year 1957-58 was a transition year from the old to the new. That year, while the CHS facility was being built, the Lost Springs school building housed Joint Rural High School District #11 North and included students from Ramona and Burdick.

Lost Springs members of the class of ’58 were Elaine Bevans (Wyatt), Marian Evenson (Wegge), Joyce Herman (Mascareno), Ramona Reznicek (Murphy), Janice Lueker (Evans), and Jacque Zinn (Schlesner). The class included four students from Burdick and two from Ramona.

Current officers of the LSHS alumni association are Alex Stuchlik, president; Nick Gonzales, vice president; Ruth Riggin, recording secretary; and Elaine Wyatt, corresponding secretary.
