Lyle Lucas

Lyle L. “Shorty” Lucas, 91, died Dec. 8 at St. Luke Hospital, Marion.

Born to Stuart and Beulah (Bueford) Lucas in Chingawassa Springs area, he was married June 1, 1946, to Maedeane Raleigh.

Lucas was a WWII veteran and a charter member of the Ecker-Fulkerson-Slifer VFW Post 6958.

His wife; a brother, Ronald; and a sister, Shirley Burkholder, preceded him in death.

Survivors include two sons, Chuck and Jack of Marion; a brother, Bud of Marion; and three sisters, Dorothy Kohls of Salina, and Wanda Feldhut and Betty Crank of California.

Services were Monday at Zeiner Funeral Home in Marion with the interment at Marion Cemetery.

A memorial fund has been established with the American Cancer Society in care of the funeral home.
