Madelyn Vogel, 83, of Marion, died Oct. 19, at Parkside Homes, Hillsboro.

A resident of Wichita the majority of her life, Madelyn ran Bricker Nursery School out of her home from 1957 to 1991, moving to Marion in 1989.

Her first husband, Forrest Bricker, and a son, David Bricker, preceded her in death.

She is survived by her husband, Vern, of Marion; a daughter, Beverly Legill of Kansas City; three sons, Bruce of Denver, Chuck of Chicago, and Gary of Wichita; a sister, Joyce Boone of Garden City; two brothers, Richard Henkle of Garden City and James Henkle of New York, N.Y.; seven grandchildren; and nine great-grandchildren.

A memorial service will be at 11 a.m. Thursday at Marion Christian Church.
