Marion blood drive successful

The Marion community surpassed the goal of 50 units of blood at the American Red Cross drive on March 19 at Eastmoor United Methodist Church. The final total was 54 units.

Many volunteers made this blood drive work. Bruce George, Ken Wealand, and Eileen Schmidt from Prairieland Partners helped in various ways. Joni Crofoot was in charge of the canteen, assisted by Grace Yoder, Gayle Thomas, Schmidt, Carol Laue, Diane Richmond, Kathy Meierhoff, and Judy Reno.

Donor escorts were Bea Kelsey, Eunice Christensen, Sue Clough, and Rhonda Brenzikofer. Shirley Bowers did donor registration.

The Presbyterian women donated cupcakes for the canteen. Kiwanis members unloaded equipment, and members of the Boy Scouts reloaded it.

The next Marion blood drive is June 25 at Eastmoor UMC.
