Marion chamber elects board members

Kevin Fruechting and Linda Carlson were reelected to the Marion Chamber of Commerce board of directors Friday, and Karen Williams was elected to fill a vacancy left by Doug Regnier.

Margo Yates told chamber members about this year’s Community Christmas project. Donations were down and requests were up, but it still went OK, she said. The Kansas Food Bank gave 100 turkeys, and Carlsons’ Grocery made a large donation.

The Marion High School football team sorted the food to be given. Full food donations were given to 63 families in the Marion and Centre school districts, Yates said. About half of those received gifts for children, as well. The remaining 37 turkeys were part of smaller food donations to families.
