Marion High School students received 3rd place at the Kansas Welding Institute Invitational Mig welding contest Friday in Beloit.
Individually for Marion, Ryan Cochran placed 7th, Jeremy Hett placed 10th, and Bryce Shults placed 13th.
At the contest, team members were required to read and interpret blueprints to correctly place and perform 5 welds on 3/8 inch plates and to perform 5 other welds on ΒΌ inch plates.
They were also given a written test on Mig welding.
Zane Slater also competed for Marion.
