Marion-Florence FFA members receive district proficiency awards

Several members from the Marion-Florence FFA chapter were recognized as district proficiency award winners Monday at the South Central District FFA banquet in Maize.

Raleigh Kroupa was district proficiency award winner in diversified crop production. Raleigh rents and manages 80 acres on which he raises wheat, milo, and forage crops for his supervised agriculture experience.

Cade Harms received the beef production proficiency award in the entrepreneurship division. He raises and sells registered Angus and Charolais cattle, helping to make mating and management decisions for his herd, and sells bulls through his parents’ annual production sale.

Dylan Carpenter was recognized as the district proficiency award winner in Agricultural Mechanics in the Design and Fabrication division. Dylan works at 4M Ranch and has helped build catch pens, modify trucks for fire-fighting and made several projects at the high school Ag Education shop.

Winners received plaques and cash awards from the Kansas FFA Foundation.

Kroupa and Bret Voth were recognized for receiving the state FFA degree.
