Marion Frobenius

Marion Karl Frobenius, 86, of McPherson, died Aug. 31 at McPherson Care Center.

Born Aug. 30, 1924, on a homestead near Lincolnville, to Karl and Katherine (Beisel) Frobenius, he attended Lincolnville Elementary School and graduated from Lincolnville High School in 1943.

Shortly after graduating from high school, he joined the U.S. Army, serving during World War II. He also served with the 18th General Hospital. He was honorably discharged in 1946. He served in Central Burma and India Burma theaters.

Marion returned to Lincolnville. In 1949, he moved to McPherson. He married Dorothy Hanson on Oct. 15, 1950, at Trinity Lutheran Church, McPherson.

He worked at Dillon’s, owned and operated Culligan Soft Water Service, and retired in 1988 from Kansas Department of Transportation.

He was a member of Trinity Lutheran Church.

His parents; a brother, Edward; and a sister, Ruth, preceded him in death.

Survivors include his wife, Dorothy, of McPherson; two sons, DeWayne of Branson West, Mo., and Michael of McPherson; a daughter, Marilyn Perkins of McPherson; two sisters, Lulu Swenson of Lindsborg and Betty Ann Beneke of Salina; six grandchildren; and eight great-grandchildren.

Services were Sept. 3 at Trinity Lutheran Church, McPherson. The Rev. Tim Leaf officiated.

Burial was at McPherson Cemetery.

Memorials have been established with the church and McPherson County Food Bank in care of Glidden-Ediger Funeral Home, 222 W Euclid St, McPherson KS 67460.
