Seven members of Marion Junior Wrestlers finished the season strong by placing at the sub district competition in Junction City.

Luke Lanning, Jarret McLinden, Tyler Palic, Cody Shipman, Brody Carroll, Kyle Palic, and Evan Slater advanced to the district competition in McPherson, where McLinden, Carroll, and Slater placed third, and Palic placed fourth.

They advanced to the state competition March 27 and 28 in Topeka. McLinden went 0-2 in the 9- and 10-year-old, 150-pound class. Palic went 1-2 in the 9- and 10-year-old, 110-pound class. In the 13- and 14-year-old, 135-pound class, Carroll also went 1-2. Slater went 3-3 in the 13- and 14-year-old, 205-pound division, earning sixth place in the state.

They were coached by Chuck McLinden, Colton Jeffrey, and Mark Johnson.
