Marion police released the following incident report:

Theft of stereo equipment

An Optimus Pro Series 12-inch subwoofer and an Alpine E-type 12-inch subwoofer were taken Aug. 22 when someone used a pry tool to enter an outbuilding at 202 S. Cedar Street., Marion. Mark Kukuk of the Cedar Street address and Kevin S. Steele of 548 W. Santa Fe St., Marion, reported the incident. The loss was valued at $875.

Drivers arrested

Following a complaint, a driver was arrested at 3:45 p.m. Sept. 5, at 1020 E. Main St., Marion, on suspicion of driving while under the influence.

In a separate incident at 6:53 a.m. Sept. 15, a vehicle was in a ditch at Whittier and Sunflower roads, Marion, which resulted in the driver being arrested on suspicion of driving while under the influence.

Purse taken in business

A purse belonging to Kimberly R. Helmer, 312 S. Freeborn St., Marion, was taken at 12:01 a.m. Sept 12, while she was at Stone City Sports Bar, 211 E. Main St., Marion. The purse was later recovered and returned to victim but a wallet containing credit cards and a necklace were missing. The wallet and necklace were valued at $75.

Domestic battery

Officers were called to a suspected domestic battery incident at 1 a.m. Sept. 21 at 202 S. Garfield St., Marion, when the victim was pinned and struck repeatedly in the head.
