Police report

Marion police officers worked on reports, and conducted traffic stops, follow-up investigations, and vehicle identification number inspections, and attended training.

Sept. 19: Officers responded to a non-injury accident. A motorist with car problems received assistance. A suspicious person was checked. A concerned citizen met with an officer. A welfare check was provided.

Sept. 20: School zones were patrolled. Illegal dumping was reported. Emergency medical services personnel received assistance with a call. A welfare check was provided. A domestic dispute resulted in an arrest. Officers responded to an activated alarm.

Sept. 21: School zones were patrolled. A possibly sick fox was reported. A suspicious chemical odor was investigated. A search warrant was served.

Sept. 22: School zones were patrolled. A domestic dispute was reported. An open business door was discovered.

Sept. 23: School zones were patrolled. A dog was reported running at-large. A barking dog complaint was checked. An arrest warrant was served. A 911 hang-up was checked.

Sept. 24: School zones were patrolled. Harassment was reported. A report of underage smoking was checked. An assault was reported. A complaint of dogs barking was checked. Radar was run on Main Street. Main Street was barricaded for the Old Settlers’ Day parade.

Sept. 25: Officers conducted traffic control for the parade. An injury accident was investigated. A trespassing complaint was filed.

Sept. 26: A dog was reported running at-large. Criminal damage to property was reported. A concerned citizen met with an officer regarding a civil matter. A domestic dispute resulted in an arrest.

Sept. 27: School zones were patrolled. Criminal damage to property was reported. A citizen met with an officer regarding a child custody complaint. A follow-up investigation was conducted regarding a parking complaint. A lost bicycle was reported. A barking dog complaint was checked. A report of a possible driving under in the influence of alcohol or drugs resulted in an arrest.

Sept. 28: School zones were patrolled. Officers attended court hearings. A non-injury accident was investigated. A parking complaint was checked. Response was given to a dog running at-large.

Sept. 29: School zones were patrolled. Assistance with truck inspections was provided to the sheriff’s office. Radar was run on Cedar Street.

Thursday: School zones were patrolled. Welfare checks were provided. Officers attended court hearings. An individual repossessing a vehicle met with an officer.

Friday: Officers responded to two injury accidents. A civil standby was provided. School zones were patrolled. A dog complaint was checked. A sheriff’s deputy received assistance with suicidal person. Vandalism was reported.

Saturday: A vehicle was reported stolen. A parking complaint was checked. A suspicious vehicle was reported.

Officers issues eight warnings and made four arrests.
