Marion police made no arrests and issued no notices to appear but issued 13 warnings from May 29 through Saturday, according to Chief Josh Whitwell. In addition to conducting routine investigations, traffic stops and vehicle identification inspections and attending meetings and training, they:

May 29 — Investigated an overturned boat at Marion Reservoir and two theft reports, including a possible theft at Carlsons’ Grocery. They also found a business’ door open after hours.

May 30 — Took a report of a runaway, investigated one non-injury accident, and assisted with another, responded to a domestic dispute, and met with a citizen about a civil dispute.

May 31 — Picked up a dog running at large and investigated a non-injury accident.

June 1 — Investigated a parking complaint, picked up two dogs running at large, took a workers’ compensation report, and assisted with a non-injury accident.

June 2 — Took a complaint about a barking dog and helped a resident locate a lost dog.

June 3 — Investigated reports of a downed street sign, a barking dog, and a blocked roadway, and provided security for Chingawassa Days.

June 4 — Provided traffic control and security for Chingawassa Days and investigated a domestic dispute, a theft, and a non-injury accident.

June 5 — Helped search for a missing boy at Marion Reservoir.

June 6 — Took complaints about a fox and about a dog and took reports of identity theft and vandalism.

June 7 — Responded to a domestic dispute.

June 8 — Took a report of a burglary.

Thursday — Checked speeds on North Cedar Street with radar and served as weather watchers.

Friday — Responded to a fire alarm at St. Luke Hospital, assisted with drug testing, took a theft report, responded to a complaint about a barking dog and found a business’ door open after hours.

Saturday — Assisted with rescue of a drowning boy at Marion County Lake and investigated an intoxicated person who had fallen at the VFW post.
