Police report

Marion police officers conducted follow-up investigations, worked on reports, conducted vehicle identification number investigations, and conducted traffic stops.

Feb. 21: A runaway was reported. Emergency medical services personnel received assistance with a call. A concerned citizen met with an officer regarding a civil matter.

Feb. 22: School zones were patrolled. Assistance was provided to EMS with a call. A child in need of care was investigated. Response was given to a 911 hang-up. A hit-and-run accident was reported.

Feb. 23: School zones were patrolled. A concerned citizen met with an officer. A parking complaint was checked.

Feb. 24: School zones were patrolled. A possible vandalism incident was reported. An officer met with county attorney regarding cases. A notice to appear was issued for a junk vehicle. Officers attended court hearings and worked on junk vehicle reports. Bar checks were conducted.

Feb. 25: School zones were patrolled. An officer met with the county attorney. Response was given to Marion Elementary School. A school walk-through was provided. A notice to appear was issued for a junk vehicle. A funeral escort was provided. A welfare check was conducted. Streetlights were checked.

Feb. 26: School zones were patrolled. Officers walked through schools. A dog running at-large was reported. Response was given to a neighborhood dispute. EMS received assistance with a call.

Feb. 27: A dog was reported running at-large. An officer met with an individual regarding a civil matter.

Feb. 28: Criminal damage to property was reported. An emergency message was delivered.

March 1: School zones were patrolled. Junk vehicle complaints were reviewed. A parking complaint was checked. Officers walked through schools. Officers worked on DRAGNET for OASIS. Marion County Sheriff’s Department received assistance with a case. A reckless driving complaint was checked.

March 2: School zones were patrolled. Officers met with the county attorney. Junk vehicle complaints were reviewed. A dispute at a local business required intervention by an officer. A parking complaint was checked.

March 3: School zones were patrolled. The sheriff’s department received assistance with a traffic hazard. Response was given to OASIS where a child was out of control. Officers attended training and a meeting. Criminal damage to property was reported.

Thursday: School zones were patrolled. Radar was run on Main Street.

Friday: Officers met with the county attorney. A stranded motorist received assistance. Radar was run on North Cedar Street. Response was given to an activated bank alarm. A dog complaint was reported. A possible gas leak was checked. Bar checks were conducted.

Saturday: A welfare check was provided. An officer met with a concerned citizen. A stranded motorist received assistance.

Officers issues 19 warnings and served three notices to appear.
