Marion police reported the following activities in addition to working on reports, follow-up investigations, and training sessions.

June 14 — Assistance was provided to Kansas Highway Patrol with a chase and manhunt and the sheriff’s department with a complaint of driving under the influence. Officers met with citizens regarding a civil issue.

June 15 — Officers met with a concerned citizen. Emergency medical services personnel received assistance with a call. Vehicle identification number inspections were conducted. An arrest warrant was served. A lost motorist received directions. A storm watch was provided. Officers assisted city crews with removal of limbs from streets. A person walking in the south part of town was checked.

June 16 — A funeral escort was provided. A citizen met with an officer regarding a civil matter. Speeds were checked by radar on South Third Street. A suspicious person was checked.

June 17 — Traffic stops were made. Officers provided truck inspections. Assistance was provided to an outside agency. VIN inspections were provided.

June 18 — Officers responded to a child custody dispute. Social Rehabilitative Services received assistance with cases. An open business door was noted. Officers checked streetlights.

June 19 — Officers investigated a dog running at-large. VIN inspections were provided. A welfare check was provided.

June 20 — A telephone harassment complaint was reported.

June 21 — A concerned citizen met with an officer. EMS received assistance with a call. Officers checked a noise complaint.

June 22 — A concerned business manager met with an officer. Officers responded to a customer complaint. A theft was reported. A non-injury accident was investigated. VIN inspections were provided.

June 23 — VIN inspections were conducted. A funeral escort was provided. A dog running at-large was reported. A battery/criminal restraint was investigated. An arrest was made. Assistance was provided to the sheriff’s department.

June 24 — A non-injury accident was investigated. Officers responded to a noise complaint and an activated business alarm. EMS received assistance with a call.

Thursday — A concerned citizen met with officers. A traffic complaint was filed. Response was given to a 911 hang-up. VIN inspections were provided. Officers responded to a gas leak. Traffic stops were conducted.

Friday — VIN inspections were provided. Traffic control was provided for LifeTeam. A concerned citizen met with officers. Assistance was provided to a community corrections officer with home visits. A civil process was served. A noise complaint was checked. Response was given to a suspicious person. A sheriff’s deputy received assistance with a prisoner.

Saturday — Response was given to a report of a suicidal person and a 911 hang-up. A non-injury accident was investigated. An open business door was noted. A barking dog complaint was checked.

Officers issued one warning and two notices to appear, and made two arrests.
