Officials are investigating two incidents where vehicles were stolen.

Feb. 22: A non-injury accident was investigated. A possible fire was checked. Vehicle maintenance was conducted. Follow-up investigations were conducted. Officers worked on reports.

Feb. 23: School zones were patrolled. Investigations were conducted. A walk-through of Marion High School was made. A citizen met with an officer regarding a civil complaint. A noise complaint was reported.

Feb. 24: A disturbance call resulted in an arrest. Officers worked on reports. A dog complaint was filed. Response was given to an injured skunk. A concerned citizen met with an officer. School zones were patrolled. A battery was reported. Training was scheduled and officers worked on reports.

Feb. 25: School zones were patrolled. An non-injury accident was investigated. A funeral escort was provided. A citizen met with an officer regarding a civil matter. Vehicle Identification Number inspections were provided. Officers attended court hearings. A civil process was served. Traffic stops were made. A lost dog was located. A DUI investigation resulted in an arrest.

Feb. 26: School zones were patrolled. A dog was reported running at-large. Follow-up investigations were conducted. VIN inspections were provided. Officers worked on reports. A civil process was served. Assistance with a call was provided to Marion County Sheriff’s Department.

Feb. 27: School zones were patrolled. Officers met with Marion County Attorney regarding cases. Criminal damage to property was reported. A bicycle was registered. Officers worked on reports. VIN inspections were provided. A civil process was served. Bar checks were conducted.

Feb. 28: A civil process was served. Follow-up investigations were conducted. A dog running at-large was picked-up. Traffic stops were made. Officers worked on reports.

March 1: Response was given to an activated alarm. Officers worked on junk vehicle violations and reports. Bicycles were registered. A lost dog was reported. Traffic stops were made. Bar checks were conducted. Response was given to a possible stolen vehicle. Follow-up investigations were conducted.

March 2: School zones were patrolled. Radar was run. VIN inspections were provided. A parking complaint was filed. Response was given to a domestic dispute. A non-injury accident was investigated. Follow-up investigations were conducted.

March 3: A stranded motorist received assistance. School zones were patrolled. Radar was run. Follow-up investigations were conducted. Stolen property was recovered. Response was given to a domestic dispute, which resulted in an arrest. Officers worked on reports.

March 4: School zones were patrolled. VIN inspections were conducted. Officers met with the county attorney regarding cases, attended department meetings, toured Marion Assisted Living, and worked on reports. Response was given to a domestic dispute. Traffic stops were made. Bar checks were conducted.

March 5: School zones were patrolled. Officers met with the county attorney regarding court and worked on reports. A court services officer received assistance with a home visit. A civil standby was provided. Follow-up investigations were conducted. Traffic stops and bar checks were made. A vehicle was stopped after hours in Central Park. Streetlights were checked. The department provided security at a basketball tournament at USD 408 Sports and Aquatics Center. A concerned citizen met with an officer.

March 6: Officers met with a concerned citizen. VIN inspections were provided. Traffic stops were conducted. Marion City Council packets were delivered. Security was provided at a basketball tournament. A lost motorist received assistance. Traffic stops were made. Bar checks were conducted. Response was given to an activated alarm. Suspicious activity was reported and checked.

March 7: Officers conducted applicant interviews and worked on reports. A vehicle was reported stolen. A storm watch was provided. Security at a basketball tournament was provided. Traffic stops were made. A welfare check was provided. The sheriff’s department received assistance with a call.

There were nine warnings issues, three notices to appear served, and five arrests were made.
