Marion Police Department was notified Thursday of burglaries and thefts.

March 22: Officers ran radar, worked on reports, and conducted vehicle maintenance. A driving complaint was checked. Follow-up investigations were conducted. An officer met with the Kansas Attorney General’s office regarding a case.

March 23: School zones were patrolled. Officers attended training and worked on reports. A burglary was reported. Response was given to an injury accident. Vehicle Identification Number inspections were provided.

March 24: School zones were patrolled. Traffic stops were made. Driving complaints on Eisenhower Drive were checked. VIN inspections were conducted. Officers worked on reports and attended training. Follow-up investigations were conducted.

March 25: School zones were patrolled. Court security was provided. A concerned citizen met with an officer. Officers attended training, court hearings, and a storm spotter meeting, and worked on reports. A civil process was served.

March 26: School zones were patrolled. Officers attended training and ran radar. Traffic stops were made. VIN inspections were provided. A motorist received assistance with vehicle problems. Response was given to a report of an injured cat. Streetlights were checked.

March 27: School zones were patrolled. VIN inspections were provided. Officers worked on reports, and conducted follow-up investigations, bar checks, and traffic stops.

March 28: A non-injury accident was investigated. Officers worked on reports, and conducted traffic stops and follow-up investigations.

March 29: Officers worked on reports, and conducted office maintenance and traffic stops. A stranded motorist received assistance. A welfare check was provided.

March 30: School zones were patrolled. A parking complaint was checked. A non-injury accident was investigated. Officers worked on reports. VIN inspections were provided. The attorney general’s office met with an officer regarding a case. Follow-up investigations were conducted. An open business door was located.

March 31: School zones were patrolled. Radar was run on Main Street. A K-9 was taken through Marion High School/Marion Middle School buildings. A dog was picked up for running at-large. Response was given to a non-injury accident. Vehicle maintenance was conducted.

April 1: School zones were patrolled. Officers attended court hearings and worked on reports. A non-injury accident was investigated. A driving complaint and a dog running at-large were checked. Streetlights were checked. VIN inspections were provided.

Thursday: School zones were patrolled. Burglary/theft reports were filed. Officers worked on reports, conducted departmental equipment maintenance, and attended local training. VIN inspections were provided. Traffic stops were made.

Friday: School zones were patrolled. Radar was run on North Roosevelt Street. Follow-up investigations were conducted. Officers worked on reports and conducted traffic stops. An arrest warrant was served. A funeral escort was provided. An injury accident was investigated. VIN inspections were provided.

Saturday: Officers worked on reports, and conducted traffic stops and follow-up investigations. Response was given to a possible fight. Marion County Sheriff’s Department received assistance with a possible DUI. Radar was run.

Officers issued eight warnings, served four notices to appear, and made one arrest.
