Marion police officers respond to various calls

May 3: Officers worked on reports, a street light list for the industrial park, and a non-injury accident. They responded to an injury accident at Green Acres MX Park, made a DUI arrest, assisted a Marion County Sheriff’s Deputy with a traffic stop, and found an open business door.

May 4: Officers patrolled school zones, conducted traffic stops, arrested an individual on a warrant, worked on reports, ran radar on North Roosevelt Street and West Main Street, and conducted Vehicle Identification Number inspections.

May 5: Officers patrolled school zones, conducted traffic stops and follow-up investigations, took a criminal trespass report, ran radar on North Walnut Street, picked up a lost bicycle and returned it to the owner, and checked on a suspicious person.

May 6: Officers checked an abandoned truck at the industrial park, patrolled school zones, checked on a driving complaint, responded to a dog running at-large complaint, attended a meeting, responded to a domestic dispute, and assisted a lost motorist with directions.

May 7: Officers conducted traffic stops, picked up a dog running at-large, patrolled school zones, took an assault report, worked a non-injury accident, responded to a business alarm, an out-of-control juvenile, and a criminal trespass complaint resulting in an arrest.

May 8: Officers assisted sheriff’s deputies with traffic control for water over a roadway, responded to a business alarm, patrolled school zones, worked on reports, met with a concerned citizen, walked through Marion Elementary School, located downed power lines, conducted traffic stops, responded to a barking dog complaint, checked on a complaint of door-to-door salesmen, and arrested an individual for possession of marijuana.

May 9: Officers conducted traffic stops, checked on a driving complaint, assisted EMS with two calls, and worked on reports.

May 10: Officers picked up a dog running at-large, worked on reports, and conducted follow-up investigations.

May 11: Officers patrolled school zones, served two arrest warrants, conducted VIN inspections and traffic stops, worked on reports, and checked on an animal complaint.

May 12: Officers patrolled school zones, met with a citizen regarding a civil matter, worked on reports, conducted VIN inspections, checked on an animal complaint and a possible suspicious person, found an open business door, and assisted a sheriff’s deputy with a call.

May 13: Officers patrolled school zones, conducted VIN inspections, traffic stops, and follow-up investigations, met with a business owner regarding a problem, assisted a court services officer with home visits, met with a concerned citizen, attended a meeting, responded to an animal complaint, checked on a suspicious person, and worked on reports.

May 14: Officers patrolled school zones, provided back-up at the request of a sheriff’s deputy, responded to a business alarm, checked on a traffic complaint, conducted traffic stops, follow-up investigations, and VIN inspections, and spoke to juveniles about riding bicycles on Main Street sidewalks.

May 15: Officers found an open storage unit, patrolled school zones, towed an illegal vehicle from roadway, served a junk vehicle letter, conducted VIN inspections and storm watch, met with a business owner regarding a safety program, and responded to Marion County jail for a possible fight.

May 16: Officers responded to a dog running at-large complaint, checked on a suspicious person, conducted vehicle maintenance and traffic stops, assisted a stranded motorist, and worked on reports.

Officers issued 11 warnings, served three notices to appear, and made six arrests.
