Officers checked business buildings, conducted traffic stops, worked on reports, patrolled school zones and city streets, provided vehicle identification number inspections,

Nov. 1: Officers patrolled the downtown district. An individual was reported flying a remote-control helicopter in the USD 408 Sports and Aquatic Center. An unattended death was reported.

Nov. 2: Criminal damage to property was reported in the 100 block of South Thorp Street. A theft was investigated in the 300 block of South Coble Street. Response was given to a dog running at-large in the 400 blocks of North Cedar and North Freeborn streets. An officer began training at Kansas Law Enforcement Center.

Nov. 3: A theft was reported in the 1100 block of East Main Street. Residents reported skunks.

Nov. 4: A theft was reported in the 300 block of East Main Street. Assistance with home visits was provided to community corrections officers. Response was given to an argument in the 200 block of North Freeborn Street.

Nov. 5: Officers met with Marion County Attorney.

Nov. 6: Officers met with county attorney. Marion County Sheriff’s Department received assistance with a search warrant. A door-to-door salesman was checked in the 100 block of North Cedar Street. A suspicious person was reported in the 500 block of South Cedar Street. Assistance was provided to the sheriff’s department at Marion Country Club to lock a golf cart shed.

Nov. 7: An escort was provided to Marion County Toy Run participants. Radar was run on North Cedar Street. A suspicious person was checked in the 400 block of South Roosevelt Street.

Nov. 8: Response was given to a gas line that was struck by an individual who was digging in the 1000 block of East Main Street. The owner of a dog running at-large was located and the dog was returned to the owner. Kansas Highway Patrol received assistance with an injury accident patient at St. Luke Hospital. Officers responded to an individual passed out in a yard. The person was located and taken home.

Nov. 9: Two doors were found open and the owners were notified. Officers attended a department meeting. DRAGNET was presented at Marion Elementary School. A theft was reported at Marion County Courthouse.

Nov. 10: Officers responded to a tip regarding the theft of an all-terrain vehicle. A civil standby was provided while a landlord posted an eviction notice. Criminal trespass was reported in the 200 block of South Locust Street. A traffic accident was investigated in the 800 block of North Cedar Street when a vehicle struck a deer. A possible telephone scam was reported. A welfare check was provided. Officers attended a department meeting.

Nov. 11: Officers practiced at shooting range. A follow-up investigation was conducted in the 100 block of Eisenhower Drive. Contact was made with a door-to-door salesman.

Thursday: Officers met with Marion County Sheriff’s Department and court service officers. A walk-through was provided at Marion High School and OASIS. Domestic battery was reported. A follow-up investigation was conducted in the 200 block of North Freeborn Street. Marion emergency medical technicians received assistance with a call.

Friday: Officers responded to a call at Marion City Hall and returned a call to Kansas Department of Social and Rehabilitative Services. Assistance with home visits was provided to community corrections officers. A follow-up investigation was conducted regarding a non-injury accident.

Saturday: An attempt was made to serve a warrant. Assistance was provided to the sheriff’s department and highway patrol with an injury accident at U.S. 56/77/K-150 intersection. Radar was run on North Cedar Street. A golf cart storage door was secured at Marion Country Club. A dog was picked up for running at-large and transported to Animal Health Center of Marion County.

Sunday: An arrest warrant was served. An individual was transported to a mental health facility. A juvenile was transported to juvenile detention at Junction City.

Officers issued 15 warnings and made four arrests.
