Police report

Officers reported the following calls and worked on reports, provided vehicle identification number inspections, met with Marion County attorney, met with concerned citizens, patrolled school zones, attended court hearings, made traffic stops, and conducted investigations.

Aug. 23: Emergency medical services personnel received assistance with a call. An individual was arrested on suspicion of criminal trespass. Officers responded to a report of a burglary in progress. A concerned citizen met with an officer. An open business door was located and owner contacted.

Aug. 24: An officer responded to an activated alarm.

Aug. 25: A walk-through was provided in a Marion school. Property was released to the owner. A door-to-door salesman was checked.

Aug. 26: A parking complaint was checked. A harassment report was filed.

Aug. 27: An escort was provided for an oversized load. A civil process was served. An open business door was located and owner was notified. A dog owner was notified of the dog’s death. Streetlights were checked.

Aug. 28: A suspicious person was reported. Officers responded to a burglary in progress. An individual was arrested on suspicion of criminal trespass. OASIS requested an officer. Officers attended a graduation ceremony at Kansas Law Enforcement Training Center. A burglary was reported. A noise complaint was reported.

Aug. 29: A dog was picked up for running at-large. A complaint of juveniles riding go-carts was checked. A horse was reported on the track at Warrior Stadium. Response was given to a loose horse on 190th Road. Possible gunshots being fired were reported. Officers checked a report of someone ringing the bell at Marion Historical Museum.

Aug. 30: Someone violated a protection-from-stalking order. Criminal damage was reported.

Aug. 31: Officers walked through Marion schools. A possible missing child was reported. Response was given to a trapped woodchuck. A parking complaint was filed. Hillsboro Police Department received assistance with a combative individual.

Sept. 1: Court services officers received assistance with home visits. Assistance was provided to EMS with a call. Officers worked on junk vehicle reports. Criminal damage was reported. An individual received assistance with locating property.

Sept. 2: A dog bite was investigated. Radar was run on North Cedar Street. Junk vehicle reports were worked. EMS received assistance with a call. Response was given to a report of an out-of-control juvenile.

Sept. 3: A narcotic case was investigated. A welfare check was made. Officers walked through schools.

Sept. 4: Harassment was reported. A possible shoplifting incident was reported. An unattended death was investigated. A report was made of a possible underage drinker. A non-injury accident was investigated. Assistance was provided to EMS with a call.

Sept. 5: A possible DUI was checked. An arrest was made. An injury and non-injury accidents were investigated. A possible fight was checked. Response was given to a report of an out-of-control child.

Officers issued 12 warning citations, served one notice to appear, and made eight arrests.
