Marion police reported the following activities in addition to working on reports, follow-up investigations, vehicle identification number inspections, meetings with Marion County attorney, and conducting traffic stops.

Sept. 6: Assistance was provided to other law enforcement with an injury accident west of Marion. A dead animal was removed in the 400 block of South Roosevelt Street. Two dogs were picked up for running at-large.

Sept. 7: A criminal trespass complaint was filed. Radar was run on Main Street and Eisenhower Drive.

Sept. 8: School zones were patrolled. A burglary in progress was reported.

Sept. 9: Emergency medical services received assistance with a call. School zones were patrolled. Officers responded to an out-of-control child in an OASIS classroom at Marion County Special Education Cooperative. A possible trespass was investigated. Assistance was provided to an individual who locked his/her keys in the car. A dog was picked up for running at-large. Officers responded to a report of a dog killing chickens. A concerned citizen met with an officer.

Sept. 10: School zones were patrolled. Officers assisted with “Bucks for Buckles” program. A dog running at-large was checked. Two domestic disturbances were investigated. Streetlights were checked.

Sept. 11: A tree was removed from a street. School zones were patrolled. A walk-through was conducted at Marion High School. A concerned citizen met with an officer.

Sept. 12: Officers assisted with hunter safety programs. EMS received assistance with a call. A dog running at-large complaint was filed. A stranded motorist was checked. An electrical pole was reported sparking and was checked as was a loud noise on the southeast side of town. A domestic disturbance was reported.

Sept. 13: Officers met with a citizen regarding harassing phone calls. Assistance was provided with hunter safety programs. Juveniles were reported riding a four-wheeler. An abandoned vehicle was checked.

Sept. 14: School zones were patrolled. Junk vehicles were investigated. Response was given to an activated alarm.

Sept. 15: School zones were patrolled. An officer met with a business owner regarding a suspicious person and regarding a possible traffic hazard. A reckless driving complaint was investigated.

Sept. 16: School zones were patrolled. A walk-through was provided at OASIS. An arrest warrant was served.

Thursday: School zones were patrolled. An officer met with a concerned citizen. Streetlights were checked.

Friday: School zones were patrolled. A welfare check was provided. Response was given to an activated alarm. Assistance was provided to a court services officer with home visits.

Saturday: Officers assisted with Art in the Park. Property was returned to the owners. Response was given to a domestic disturbance.

Officers issued 13 warnings, served two notices to appear, and made three arrests.
