The Marion Senior Center received government commodities Sept. 15. Gary and Karen Chaput drove to Council Grove to pick them up. Then people unloaded and sacked everthing. Shirley Moore was in charge of the crew. Also helping were Norman Funk, Larry Blosser, Keith Holtsclaw, Clayton Hamm, Suzanne Thole, Virginia Downing, Evelyn Jewett, Jim Osborn, Valera Morgan, Karen Kline, and Sue Clough.
Two vans of people went to the Senior Fair at the Bicentennial Center in Salina. The most popular workshop was given by Marci Penner. She showed photographs from her book on “They Eight Wonders of Kansas.” The session Janet Bryant was in had a contest to find who had been to the most attraction in Kansas. Jerry Kline won a membership in the Kansas Explorer’s Club.
Senior Center Day was Sept. 21. New officers were elected. Sue Clough was named president, Clayton Hamm, vice president; Shirley Bowers, secretary; and Mariyln Geis, treasurer.
Department on Aging Coordinator Gayla Ratzlaff presented information about the prescription drug program. Enrollment begins Oct. 15.
The senior Center will host a program Oct. 5 after lunch.
